How to choose an Agent/Broker

Any agent in any MLS can sell you any house listed with any real estate firm or list your house for MLS.

 Everyone has access to the same inventory.

 However, not everyone has the same:

· knowledge of the marketplace

  professional training and experience

  personal orientation toward service

  knowledge of house hunting

Your agent should be your personal confidant. Don,t try to hide things from him/her if you want them to tailor their services to your needs. Would you hide your symptoms from your Doctor or income from your CPA ? I certainly hope not or you will find yourself in trouble.

Agents who are dedicated full time professionals have earned professional Designations

that they use after their names to let the general public know about their level of knowledge.

 


Some Designations and what they mean:

GRI---------Graduate of Realtors Institute. Fewer than 10% of the Agents Nationwide

CRS--------Certified Residential Specialist. Fewer than 5% of the Agents Nationwide

ABR--------Accredited Buyers Representative. Less than 9500 Agents Nationwide

RECS------Real Estate Cyberspace Specialist. Less than 1000 Charter Member Designees Worldwide

CRB--------Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager. Less than 6000 Agents Nationwide

CCIM------Certified Commercial and Investment Member. Less than 8000 Agents Worldwide
